Community Engagement banner: focus groups, surveys and forums

Call for Community Voices

**UPDATED** The Children’s Services Council of Leon County (CSC Leon) will host a series of focus groups and forums in multiple locations during January, 2022. The goal of these small groups are to engage parents, providers and youth in meaningful discussion on the diverse needs of children and youth as part of the comprehensive assets and needs assessment currently underway. These events are just the start of multiple community engagement events. Some events will be held in-person while others will be hosted virtually. All will be facilitated by the CSC Leon research firm, Q-Q Research Consultants. Participation is limited and pre-registration is required.

Cecka Rose Green accepts position as executive director

Cecka Rose Green was approved as the new executive director of the Children’s Services Council of Leon County during a meeting Thursday afternoon.

Green will be paid $120,000 a year with the potential for at least a $5,000 merit increase for the next year’s contract if she has met the council’s expectations, according to the employment agreement.

Q-Q Research Selected to Serve as Needs Assessment Vendor

On October 21, 2021, the Children’s Services Council of Leon County Negotiation Team approved a recommendation from the Needs Assessment Invitation to Negotiate (ITN) Negotiation Team to award Q-Q Research Consultants with the contract for the Asset and Needs Assessment. The contract price is $279,773.

Community Advocate Jack Levine Educates Local Kiwanis Club

On Monday, August 30, local child advocate and Founder of the 4Generations Institute, Jack Levine, addressed the Capital City Kiwanis Club on the latest happenings with the Children’s Services Council of Leon County. His presentation provided history of the CSC movement locally and across the state, as well as addressed the governance structure of the Council, what it hopes to levy in terms of local taxes, and its recently adopted priorities.
