CSC Leon Expands Access to Summer Camps for Hundreds of Families Across Tallahassee

Summer Camps for Youth; carton children skipping

On March 7, the Children’s Services Council of Leon County (CSC Leon) approved $1.7M in funding to serve more than 900 children in 11 different programs all summer long. Then, on April 18, CSC Leon authorized funding for summer camp scholarships to an additional seven programs that almost exclusively serve children and youth with unique abilities or special health care needs. Families can learn about each of the participating summer programs (listed below in alphabetical order) by visiting our summer camp listing at https://summeryouthexpo.org/.

Note, children must be residents of Leon County to qualify for the free camps. Priority will be given to families who live in specific neighborhoods. Slots are available on a first come, first served basis and may require a small registration fee to hold a spot. Families who receive the free summer “enrichment” camps must agree to participate in their chosen camp all summer. Families eligible for the special need scholarships can receive up to two full weeks at their chosen camp.
