Allison “Allie” Richards

Governor Appointee

Allison "Allie" Richards was born and raised in the Fort Braden community of Leon County. She earned her degree from Florida State University with a specialization in Educational Leadership, equipping her with the knowledge and skills to support and uplift her community.

Currently, Allie Richards serves as the Aide to District 2 Leon County Commissioner Christian Caban. In this role, she works closely with neighborhoods to address concerns, keep residents informed, and provide valuable insight into county operations. Her position allows her to foster strong connections and ensure that the voices of her community are heard.

Before stepping into her current position, Allie devoted her career to teaching students with disabilities and creating inclusive, supportive learning environments. Her passion for service runs deep, a value instilled in her by her late father, James “Jimbo” Jackson, who served as a teacher and later as the beloved principal of Fort Braden School for 29 years, in addition to his role as District 2 Leon County Commissioner for six years. Allie often describes her father as larger than life—a guiding force who inspired her daily. She takes pride in carrying forward his dedication to public service, believing wholeheartedly in the power of empathy and connection to create meaningful change.

Allie and her husband, Justin Richards, a firefighter in Tallahassee, are raising their two daughters, Elizabeth and James Ann, who are the center of their world. Balancing family life with her deep commitment to the community, Allie remains steadfast in her mission to serve, honor her father’s legacy, and impact the place she has always called home.
