CSC Leon is excited to welcome Elaine Johnson to our team as our new Public Relations Intern! Elaine joins us from Florida A&M University, where she is a senior majoring in Public Relations. Originally from Bridgeport, Connecticut, she brings a strong set of communication, organizational, and leadership skills to this role, as well as a deep passion for supporting children and families.
Elaine’s background spans professional roles in customer service and administrative support, as well as volunteer leadership in youth mentorship and community service. She currently serves as Community Service Chair for Mind Over Matter and is active with the National Council of Negro Women. Her lived experience in the foster care system fuels her passion for empowering children and families.
Elaine is passionate about building a career that combines public relations with politics, using her voice and training to create lasting change. She sees her time with CSC Leon as an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while contributing to a worthy mission and building relationships. During her internship, Elaine will support CSC Leon’s communications and public relations efforts, including writing stories about our funded partners, assisting with social media content, and helping organize community events. She will also lend her talents to upcoming initiatives such as the Family Book Fair in November and the Youth & Family Services Expo in March.
Outside of school and work, Elaine enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with friends and family. We are thrilled to welcome her to the CSC Leon team and look forward to the energy, perspective, and creativity she brings to her role. Please join us in giving Elaine a warm welcome!
