Summer Camps for Youth

Summer Camps for Youth; carton children skipping

FIND YOUR SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCE!

Thank you to all who joined us for the “one-stop shop” experience on Saturday, March 23, to identify FREE summer enrichment camps for children, grades K-8, funded by CSC Leon. STEM, Literacy, Sports, and Arts. If you could not make it in person, there are still opportunities to connect. Please explore all the links below to find the best summer camp experience for your child.

The 2024 Summer Youth Investment is designed to help Leon County residents, particularly those with low to moderate income, such as ALICE households, access high quality summer learning experiences at no or very low cost. Studies show that lower-income families don’t have access to high-quality, engaging summer programming, leaving youth without a safe place to go or thrive while their parents are at work. This can also result in the “summer slide,” where students lose some of the academic gains made during the school year. CSC Leon wants to help change that.

To be eligible, children must be rising Kindergarten through 12th grade and residents of Leon County to access the free camps. Priority will be given to families who live in specific neighborhoods. Slots are available on a first come, first served basis and may require a small registration fee to hold a spot. Families who receive the free summer camps must agree to participate in their chosen camp all summer.

NEW! We also just added seven new programs who have scholarships available to families for children with unique abilities and/or special health care needs. These programs can offer up to two weeks of free or reduced summer camp at programs specializing in serving this special population. Scroll to the bottom to learn more!
